About the event
Join Friends of Yellowstone Lake, Upper Sugar, park naturalists, Bat Ambassadors, and Blanchardville EMS at the Yellowstone Lake State Park Amphitheater for an afternoon of community science fun.
There will be light refreshments, crafts, and games along with our educational programming!
Upper Sugar will have preserved or live specimens of freshwater macroinvertebrates that participants can learn to identify. Participants will be able to use an identification key to find which invertebrates can live in certain levels of water pollutants and then estimate the health of the water where the invertebrates were collected. We will also be talking about how aquatic invasive species can impact aquatic ecosystems as well.
