Join us for a hands-on training focused on monitoring aquatic invasive species in the Baraboo River and other local rivers and streams. No experience is needed, just a love for nature and a desire to make a difference. Whether you’re wading in or helping from the shore, there’s a role for everyone.
The Friends of the Baraboo River; Sauk County Land, Resources, and Environment; and Upper Sugar River Watershed Association are partnering up to host a training day focused on identifying key Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) and educating participants on how to report findings using Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) tools. The day will have two parts: a training in the morning, followed by hands-on monitoring in or near the water. Our training component will identify species of concern in the Sugar River watershed and go over the basics of species identification.…
