About the event
Located in the enclave of Springdale, our property has an abundance of springs and natural waterways that feed into the Sugar River. Our property was commercially farmed in corn and soybeans prior to our arrival in 2020. Since that time, we have added multi-species rotational grazing with a combination of wool sheep, alpacas, and Scottish Highland cattle. The transformation has been nothing short of amazing. You will have a chance to walk the property and observe the feeder stream, see rotational grazing up close, and meet our flerd (flock + herd). Come enjoy a relaxed, bucolic evening.
Main topics will include: multi-species rotational grazing, carbon sequestration in agriculture, and habitat/watershed transformation.
Special notes: We are a working farm and use electric fencing. While we love dogs, please leave pets at home. We will ask you to walk through a 10% bleach bath prior to walking the property for biosecurity purposes…
